Road map to reach your dream company

// How passion helped me to be in the right workplace //

It is been amazing close to 100 days in my dream company Freshworks as a Visual Designer, and I still feel that I’m too lucky to be here. Most people don’t know how much I wanted to join this company which I was dreaming of. I was trying to get in by giving four times an interview in a row since after completing engineering and finally cracked all the rounds in the fourth attempt with back to back try in this year.

Since many of us wanted to get into the dream company out of passion by choice, I thought of expressing my ideas how I cracked assuming it might be helpful to write it down and share it with people.

However, I still embarrassed myself for uncountable times in interviews when I first started giving try as a designer. I applied to many places in hopes that my portfolio would work, but I ended up not hearing back from the majority of them Because I had a gap in creating the right portfolio for the role I have applied. I parallelly worked on the folio and applied to various design companies, where I was interviewed, failed, applied again, interviewed again, failed again where the process was on a loop for a while.

The good thing is, each time I got to learn something new and became a little bit stronger than before. Also in every opportunity, I got a chance to meet various designers of the same filed who helped me a lot to improve me as a designer. Luckily, after so much practice and repetition, I’ve grown from someone who doesn’t know how to introduce myself properly, into someone who can explain and conceptualize the concepts for the visual I do as a designer.

These are the points to be analyzed to get into the right place in your career.

Asking yourself the things will help you understand your interests and narrow down the number of jobs you apply for. By following the above points can make you reach the right place in your career for sure.

Listing out your strengths will help you understand the value you can contribute. This will help you narrow down on companies that could benefit from your skillset, and will make it easier to highlight your skills when applying.

Having proper career goals will make you taste success at the right time in your dream career. Also seeking a job is just one episode of the journey. But the passion, the thirst to achieve and perseverance push us in the process will benefit in the long run.

There are several ways you can apply to your dream company and catch the attention of the recruiters. I explored and discovered many of these ways while applying to reach the goal.

In a nutshell, your resume should be easy to read, reflect your skills and achievements, and include relevant experience without leaving out key information that you have accomplished from your experience.

LinkedIn is one of the amazing platforms to directly connect with recruiters. While approaching them just make sure you attach a small note relevant to your background education and work experience on it. Also, make sure you don’t forget to add the resume and to add relevant certifications in your profile just to increase the chance among others.

Be clear on where you want to be in and get information on how the place helps you to grow as a better person. Do as much research that you can do to know better about the company, having an idea of what organization does will make you fix your career goals better in the role that you apply for.

By doing the above things I happily landed in the right place where I want to be out of passion by choice. These are some of the ways which I followed to make my recipe. There might be other magical ways to make yours as well, and I would love to hear about those in the comments section!
