Late night munchies

When you are in Paris there are nothing you cant get at 2,3 or 4 am in the morning. The drunken bites at the Kabbas or the midnight pizza. Sometimes when you are desperate, you look into your hollow fridge and see what you can conjure up after a night of drinking. The essentials are eggs. Basically you can cook eggs with anything, ham, sausages, chinese sausages, bacon etc. The options are limitless. After contemplating all night with my husband, we decided to be creative. We made our own drunken snacks with eggs and sausages and chorizos. It worked. Anything could have worked. But maybe not everything. Time to go grocery shopping tomorrow and stop by my favorite chinese supermarket with super unfriendly self sufficient marche. You need to find you own stuff. And have quite a few weird essentials to embellish. Thousand year old eggs, super spicy Korean ramen, canned fish with black beans etc. What happened to fresh foods when you are connected back to you culture. I love my home food. The taste the smell the memories of everything. I have part of me that’s still Chinese within the American me. I want to be proud of that. I m proud to be a chinese. It was given to me and I accepted it. For a long time I deny my heritage but no more. I’m proud and have so much pride in my race, my culture, my beliefs and my life. So bring on the Chinese stinky tofu and durians, I will have them all and I have no shame eating it in front of you. Any race is welcome to join my journey. That’s for another story. For tonight, sleep well my darlings. I hate the heat and I don’t do well. But I will survive and stay true to myself. Embrace this new world and rejoice with me.
